Rome, Crociera of the Collegio Romano
March 7 - April 10, 2008

In 1651, Athanasius Kircher founded the famous Museum of Collegio Romano, also known as Museum of the World or Museum Kircherianum. It was a cabinet of curiosities not only containing artificialia and naturalia but also many machines and scientific devices designed by Kircher. It soon became a must-see stop for travelers visiting the eternal city. Four centuries later, Cybèle Varela has decided to pay a tribute to this incredibly inventive and inspirational figure, presenting the exhibition Ad Sidera per Athanasius Kircher in the same place where Kircher had his museum, which is today Rome's Library of archeology and art history annex.

The exhibition shown at the Collegio Romano was held under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Culture, in the occasion of the centennial of the International Women's Day, and of the Accademia Angelica Costantiniana, ONLUS
